Myrrh is a gum-resin extracted from a number of small, thorny tree species of the genus Commiphora.

Myrrh resin has been used throughout history as a perfume, incense and medicine. 
In pharmacology, myrrh is used as an antiseptic, in some liniments and healing salves that may be applied to abrasions and other minor skin ailments.

In aromatherapy, Myrrh Essential Oil is known to offer relief for colds, congestion, coughs and bronchitis. Inhaling its sedative scent is known to lift negative moods, promote the feeling of being grounded, and encourage the feeling of spiritual awakening.
